Ostello del Pellegrino di Camaiore Informations

Camaiore is a pretty small town in the province of Lucca, in the heart of famous Versilia, set like a precious stone between the peaks of the Apuan Alps and kilometers of sandy coast bathed by the Tyrrhenian Sea. The area is rich in art, history and tradition. Its territory is varied and fascinating, every corner needs to be discovered: from the Southern Apuan Alps with panoramic peaks of Gabberi, Matanna and Prana mountains, the hills covered with olive trees, chestnut woods and Mediterranean bush that frame the picturesque villages of the fractions (former medieval castles), without forgetting the capital with its valley, the plain of Capezzano and the shoreline of Lido di Camaiore, famous seaside resort.
The hostel is located in the Abbey Pietà di Camaiore and has 24 beds in rooms of 4, 6, 8 beds to accommodate pilgrims who go or return to/ from Rome along the ancient Via Francigena, the main road that connected France and Northern Italy in the Middle Ages and still leads to the holy places of Rome.
Camaiore is one of the very few examples of "Hostel of the Pilgrim" in Tuscany, the first in Versilia.
